holds a PhD in Literary Studies from the University of Leuven (Belgium). She works as a professor in Dutch Literature and Translation Studies at the Arts Faculty of the University of Leuven (Campus Brussels). She is member of the board of the Centre for Reception Studies (CERES), member of the Steering Committee of the Centre for Translation Studies (CETRA) and Head of the KU Leuven Research Unit in Translation Studies. Her main research interests include reception studies, discourse analysis and literary translation. Her current research deals with the function of translation and cultural transfer in the creation of national literatures.
